Man Charged with Murder Following Fatal Stabbing in Brisbane

A 32-year-old man from Logan has been charged with murder following the death of another 32-year-old man who was stabbed at a home in Brisbane over the weekend.

The victim sustained a chest wound during the incident, which occurred at approximately 4:00 am on Saturday at a residential property on Barcelona Street in Wishart. He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment but subsequently died from his injuries overnight.

Charge Upgraded After Victim Dies

Authorities initially charged the accused with grievous bodily harm. However, the charge was upgraded to murder following the victim's death in hospital. According to police, the two men were known to each other.

In addition to the murder charge, the suspect faces a charge of contravening an order regarding information necessary to access electronically stored data.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Forensic officers remained at the two-storey Wishart residence on Sunday to gather evidence, including dusting the scene for fingerprints. The accused man is scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
